Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare due for November
The newest FPS to hit consoles to goes by the name Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, a game that is due to be part of a new three year development cycle with Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch all taking turns to develop games for the Call of Duty series. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare incorporates robotic technology and new tactics to envision a new form of combat, something which is needed to revitalize the series to its former glory.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in a plausible future in which technological progress and today’s military practices have converged with powerful consequences, PMCs write the rulebooks when it comes to war and nations are at the mercy of the PMCs with Atlas Corporation at the center of everything as the most powerful PMC of them all.
It would seem that the game seems similar to Titanfall due to the similarities with the combat but it remains to be seen how the game actually plays and what multiplayer will actually consist of.
The debut of PlayStation Now – CES 2014
Sony has recently announced that PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 games will be available to be played on the cloud as a form of backward compatibility. Similar to the Nvidias shield platform, Sony allows you to stream games over the internet and play them on your PS Vita or your Bravia TV. The exact details of how each game will be played and the specifics on the servers providing the games are still in doubt, mainly because of the unique design of the Cell processor and processing power to pull of this service.
Xbox has a similar cloud service which provides extra processing power to Xbox One servers but it requires the internet to be constantly one to be any use. I personally think Sony has made a very good move here but how it performs for a large amount of people remains to be seen. Knowing Sony’s prior history with online infrastructure, its more then likely when it comes out the servers will be immediately overwhelmed by the volume of people trying to access the service. Certain technological milestones will have to be crossed to extract the full benefit of this and for it to be a viable choice for consumers

Call of Duty: Ghosts Masked Warriors Teaser Trailer
Speculation has finally come to an end, the next iteration of the Call of Duty series has been announced and is due to be released on the current gen consoles and next-gen consoles with a release date of 5/11/13. The game is being developed by Infinity Ward and will feature a new engine designed specifically for the next-gen consoles. Look at the video below to see the trailer!
Battlefield 4 Gameplay and Reveal
Although I am a little bit late to the party I’m pretty sure virtually all gamers are excited for the next Battlefield Installment to hit the shelves this year, especially with next-gen consoles already on their way. Battlefield 4 is EA’s attempt to dominate the FPS market where Activision’s Call of Duty reigns supreme.
It seems the approach is no longer focused on the technical abilities of the game and what it can do but rather how the game is portrayed and how to refine how the player feels such experiences, something which Call of Duty excels at with the newest example being Black Ops 2.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
After a lengthy break and various discussions on the future of the Metal Gear Solid series in various forums, many fans would be pleased to know that Metal Gear Solid isn’t suffering from the reboots that have been running rampant frequently such as Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider.
Suffice to say that not all reboots are particularly bad and are much-needed to rejuvenate sales into the video games market but certain pieces of Art should not be tampered with, Solid Snake is a fine example. Phantom Pain, the newest iteration to the series is said to have been combined with Ground Zeroes although Konami are being tight lipped on what the future holds in this endeavour. The game is to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 with no word on next generation features.
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
The next iteration of Assassins Creed shows much promise and aims to show you what an Assassin can do in a pirate themed world. Today Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has officially been confirmed by publisher Ubisoft and will have 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay for PS3(as always). Edward Kenway is the lead in this story and he is the father of Haytham Kenway and Grandfather of Connor.
It was also announced that eight studios will be working on the game to be able to develop the 50 locations that Assassins Creed 4 hopes to bring to the table, I only hope that the game has a real artistic sense to it, with the Next Gens processing power we can expect to see quite a lot of eye-candy.
Black Flag begun development in 2011 while the finishing touches were being applied to Revelations.The game will be released on current gen consoles, the Wii U, PC and next-gen consoles so here’s a trailer for you to see what it is about.
